1. Description of Vacuum Press Roller
Vacuum presses are widely used in medium and high-speed paper
machines, and are also an indispensable part of compound presses.
The layout of a general vacuum press and its ancillary equipment
are similar to those of an ordinary press. However, the
eccentricity of the vacuum press is opposite to that of the
traditional press, that is, the upper roller of the press is offset
by 50 to 60 mm in the outlet direction relative to the lower
roller.
To remove moisture from the press section, the vacuum chamber
suction in the vacuum roll must be directed towards the feed side
of the nip. Only in this way, the felt and wet paper first come
into contact with the vacuum roller, so that the sealing effect of
the nozzle of the vacuum chamber can be achieved, preventing air
from entering the vacuum system. Therefore, the felt generally
enters the pressing section in the horizontal downward direction,
and then moves away from the pressing section in the horizontal
downward direction.
